The Miss America Organization Announces New President, CFO

Sam Haskell, Executive Chairman & CEO of the Miss America Organization, announced today the elevation of Josh Randle to President and Eli Popicg to Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.

“A wise mentor told me years ago that our future depends on surrounding ourselves with talented and bright young people. Standing shoulder to shoulder with Josh Randle and Eli Popicg enables the vision I have for Miss America to be executed perfectly,” said Sam Haskell. “Our future is secure, and the camaraderie we share with Lynn Weidner and our talented board and staff is paramount.”

At its annual meeting in Washington, DC, the MAO Board of Directors elevated Josh Randle to President & COO of the Miss America Organization. Randle joined MAO in 2015 as Chief Operating Officer and has served as a volunteer Trustee of The Miss America Foundation since 2013. Prior to joining MAO, Randle was the inaugural National Executive Director of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation in the United States, one of the British Royal Family’s principal charities. At 29, Randle is the youngest president in the organization’s history.

“I am incredibly honored and humbled to serve in this capacity,” said Josh Randle. “Miss America is a movement of empowering young women to pursue an education and achieve their dreams, and I am excited to help expand and further that important legacy as we approach our 100th anniversary.”

Eli Popicg was named the new Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of the Miss America Organization. Popicg has served as MAO’s Finance Director since 2015. Prior to joining MAO, Popicg served as Deputy Controller & Deputy to the CFO at BGR Group in Washington, DC.

“I am truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to work for this iconic organization,” said Eli Popicg, “and I very much look forward to working with Sam, Lynn, and Josh to promote and enhance the Miss America brand for many years to come.”

Headquartered in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the Miss America Organization was established in 1921 and remains today as the nation’s largest provider of scholarship assistance to young women. In 2016 – together with The Miss America Foundation – the Miss America Organization and its 52 state organizations awarded over $6 million in cash awards and in-kind tuition waivers to contestants at the local, state, and national levels.

Lynn Weidner, Chair of the MAO Board of Directors stated, “With Josh Randle as President & COO and Eli Popicg as CFO, joining our Executive Chairman & CEO Sam Haskell at the helm, I have great confidence in the future of Miss America, and I know that we can look forward to our upcoming second century with renewed energy and focus on our mission of service, scholarship, and the empowerment of America’s young women.”
