MISS TENNESSEE’S OUTSTANDING TEEN AND MISS WASHINGTON’S OUTSTANDING TEEN  WIN PRELIMINARY AWARDS AT THE 2019 MAOT COMPETITION

Orlando,
Florida, July 24, 2019 – Miss Tennessee’s Outstanding Teen, Taylor
Parsons was named Wednesday nights preliminary Talent winner for her
clogging performance to “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”
during the second night of the 2019 Miss America’s Outstanding
Teen Competition at the Linda Chapin Theater in Orlando.  Taylor
will receive a $500 scholarship.

Also
in the spotlight was Washington’s Outstanding Teen, Payton May, who
won the preliminary Evening Wear/On-Stage Question.  Payton will
also receive a $500 scholarship.

The
Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Organization is one of the nation’s
leading achievement programs and will make available more than
$122,000 in cash scholarships in 2019. The Miss America’s Outstanding
Teen Organization encourages positive achievement by helping to
nurture and build the scholastic achievement, creative
accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement of our
nation’s youth. MAOTeen provides educational scholarships for
deserving young people and has developed mentoring programs and
community-based initiatives. The Miss America’s Outstanding Teen
Organization has a long standing relationship with Children’s Miracle
Network Hospitals. Through this partnership, the Miss America’s
Outstanding Teen Organization raises over $450,000 annually to help
improve the lives of children across the country.  

Hadley Abram, Tori Pedruzzi and Shae Smith (overall winner) took home the top awards for their fundraising efforts, collectively raising over $50,000 for the children and MAOTeen scholarships.
