MISS WISCONSIN’S OUTSTANDING TEEN AND MISS NORTH CAROLINA’S OUTSTANDING TEEN WIN PRELIMINARY AWARDS AT THE 2016 MISS AMERICA’S OUTSTANDING TEEN COMPETITION

Orlando, Florida – August 3, 2016 – Miss Wisconsin’s Outstanding Teen, Kylene Spanbauer was named Wednesday night’s preliminary Talent winner for her dance/twirl performance to “Explosive” during the second night of the 2016 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Competition at the Linda Chapin Theater in Orlando. Kylene will receive a $500 scholarship. Also in the spotlight was Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen, Catherine White, who was the preliminary Evening Wear/On-Stage Question winner. Catherine will receive a $500 scholarship.

Five contestants were recognized for their achievement in raising awareness and fund for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital and MAOTeen Partnership. In fifth place, raising $4,180, was Miss Indiana’s Outstanding Teen, Jordan Axel. Raising $5,167 and placing in fourth was Paige Kauffman, Miss Kansas’ Outstanding Teen. Miss South Carolina’s Outstanding, Makayla Stark raising $5431 was third. In second place with $9,630.71 was Miss West Virginia’s Outstanding Teen, Grace Aulabaugh. In first place, with $21,554.14 raised, was Alysa Bainbridge, Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Teen.

MISS GEORGIA’S OUTSTANDING TEEN AND MISS NEBRASKA’S OUTSTANDING TEEN WIN PRELIMINARY AWARDS AT THE 2016 MISS AMERICA’S OUTSTANDING TEEN COMPETITION

Orlando, Florida – August 2, 2016 – Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen, Kelsey Hollis was named Tuesday night’s preliminary Talent winner for her vocal performance of “Hallelujah” during the first night of the 2016 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Competition at the Linda Chapin Theater in Orlando. Kelsey will receive a $500 scholarship. Also in the spotlight was Miss Nebraska’s Outstanding Teen, Hannah Miller, who was the preliminary Evening Wear/On-Stage Question winner. Hannah will receive a $500 scholarship.

Four contestants were recognized for their achievement in the category of Ad Sales. Tied for second place, each selling four pages and receiving a $1,000 scholarship were: Miss Missouri’s Outstanding Teen, Christina Stratton; Miss District of Columbia Outstanding Teen, Nilah Pettus; and Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Teen, Alysa Bainbridge. In first place, with eight pages sold and receiving a $1,500 scholarship was Miss South Carolina’s Outstanding Teen, Makayla Stark.

Six other young women were recognized as Finalists as the Teens in Action Award, a $1,000 scholarship that recognizes outstanding achievement in their personal platform. The Finalists are: Tiara Pennington, Miss Alabama’s Outstanding Teen; Emily Brewer, Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen; Teghan Gregson, Miss New Hampshire’s Outstanding Teen; Nina Mojares, Miss New Jersey’s Outstanding Teen; Stella Ford, Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen; and Lyndsey Scheurer, Miss North Dakota’s Outstanding Teen.
